Earlier this month when I was in Bali, I had the privilege of going to the Ayana Resort in Jimbaran Bay. It is an amazing resort. Ayana is famous for its beachfront bar called Rock Bar. I had heard about it several times before I even got to Bali. To go to Rock Bar, you do not have to be staying at the Ayana, but you do have to take a lift car down to it, and it is worth the ride. Imagine descending down upon a beautiful bar set into a private cliffside, with several levels, all facing towards a gorgeous private beach with perfect sunset views. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Also, the drink menu at Rock Bar: flawless. If I had a bit more money, I could have stayed all night knocking back their delicious drinks. Ayana’s location in Jimbaran Bay is also a huge plus. It is close to the beautiful cliffside temple of Uluwatu, which also is part of the town of Uluwatu with the famous surf breaks, and cute beach vibe. Go in the other direction along the coast and you get to the town of Jimbaran, with restaurant after restaurant set up directly on the beach, serving up the best of Bali’s seafood.
