Charleston

After exploring Asheville this past weekend, we drove down to Charleston, South Carolina for the night. And woo welcome to the South! Charleston is a city with a lot of Southern Charm. Spanish moss covering most of the trees, gorgeous mansions built in 1800 and restored to perfection, and fresh seafood for days. Pictured above is the Angel Oak Tree. It is a 1500+ year old massive tree and it is stunning. Absolutely breathtaking. Charleston also has beaches galore. We explored Folly Beach on Sunday. After swimming in the ocean and spending quality time in the sand, we ventured to a crab shack for some amazing fresh shrimp and crab, washing it down with cold beers. Can’t complain. Sunday night we wandered all over downtown Charleston. We walked Rainbow Row, a string of multicolored houses right by the water’s edge. While exploring downtown, we stumbled upon an awesome outdoor night market. We found the most delicious smelling handmade candles EVER, as well as got to sample some dark chocolate covered raspberries (sounds odd but SO good). After the market, we ventured into a bar that was once a church. Incredible. Tall ceilings, open air, and stained glass windows. Good vibes. To end our night we went to the rooftop pool/bar atop a very nice hotel, and had one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had. Perfect end to a perfect trip 🙂
